The LinkedIn extension: assist mode outreach
TalentGPT intelligence on every LinkedIn profile you view, one-click adds to your pool, and safe assisted connection requests where YOU always press Send.

What it does
- Overlay intelligence: viewing a LinkedIn profile shows TalentGPT signals for that person, right on the page.
- One-click ingest: add the profile you are viewing to your talent pool, parsed from the page itself.
- Assisted connecting: the extension finds the Connect button, opens the note box and types your personalized note. You review and press Send.
- Closing the loop: when a connection is accepted or a candidate replies on LinkedIn, your sequences know and advance, the same way an email reply advances them.
- The tracker: a worklist of every queued LinkedIn touch with its note ready, plus the status of every invitation you have sent.
Setup
- 1Install the extension in Chrome.
- 2Open TalentGPT, go to Integrations, and click Pair extension. The pairing completes in one click; a code-based fallback exists if your browser blocks it.
- 3Open LinkedIn. Profiles you visit now carry the TalentGPT overlay, and your LinkedIn tracker starts working.
Why assist mode: your account is the product we protect
LinkedIn automation tools get recruiter accounts restricted, and a restricted account is a catastrophe no feature justifies. We built the extension around one rule: the human presses Send.
- We never read or store your LinkedIn session or password. Pairing is with TalentGPT, not with LinkedIn.
- We never auto-send connection requests or messages. The extension fills the note; the click that sends is always yours.
- Volume guardrails are built in server-side: daily and weekly caps with a gradual warm-up for newly paired accounts.
- If LinkedIn shows a security checkpoint, the extension backs off automatically until you clear it.
This is a deliberate product decision, not a temporary limitation. Tools that promise fully automatic LinkedIn sending are betting your account on not getting caught. We do not take that bet with customer accounts.
The LinkedIn tracker
- Every LinkedIn touch queued by your sequences appears as a row: candidate, role, and the note already personalized.
- Work down the list: open the profile, review the pre-filled note, press Send, mark it sent. The sequence advances automatically.
- Invitation lifecycle is tracked: sent, accepted, or quietly expired. Old unanswered invitations can be withdrawn on your schedule to keep your invitation quota healthy.
- An accepted connection resumes the sequence (for example, sending the first message); a reply routes like an email reply.
Set the withdraw window per sequence: a high-touch exec search might leave invitations out for three weeks, a volume role five days.
Frequently asked
Can the extension get my LinkedIn account banned?
The extension is designed around not triggering LinkedIn automation detection: it never sends anything itself, never touches your session cookie, and enforces server-side volume caps with warm-up. The action LinkedIn sees is you pressing Send, because that is what actually happens.
Does it work with my existing sequences?
Yes. LinkedIn connection and message steps in any sequence flow into the tracker as ready-to-send items, and acceptances or replies advance the same sequence the email steps run in.
What data does the extension collect?
It reads the public profile page you are viewing to show intelligence and ingest candidates you choose to add, and it reports invitation and reply status for candidates in your sequences. It requests no browsing history, no cookies and no access beyond LinkedIn pages and the TalentGPT API.
